Gridview onupdating event

Data; namespace Daily Readiness Picking this project up again after a long hiatus. When I am editing values in a row, and click on update, the text I just type in goes away. Should I be writing my changes while editing to that?event is raised when a row's Edit button is clicked, but before the Grid View control enters edit mode.My problem lies in that the click on the Update Image Button posts back, but neither the Row Command nor Row Updating events get triggered.I have set the requisite attributes in the Grid View tag. I did some google searches, and there were examples out there but it just isn't making sense. Hi, I would first suggest that you use the Template Columns instead of the Bound Columns this way you are not dependent on the index/position of the column in the Grid View. In the code below I have shown how you can extract the new values from the textboxes inside the Grid View.

the problem is still saving the edits done by the user to the gridview in edit mode.

Within the Item Template I have an Image Buttong with a Command Name of "Edit".

This works as expected and I can put a breakpoint in the Row Command event handler to see the "Event" command name.

The following code example demonstrates how to display data that is retrieved from a Microsoft SQL Server database in a Drop Down List control and update the record using a Text Box control.

The example shows how you can use a Db Transaction object to add transaction context when using the Sql Data Source control to update data.
